Fibertherm System
The Fibertherm Window system can be used in renovation or new construction, and in homes, schools, hospitals, churches, industrial and government. This product offering is all - encompassing... your choice includes CASEMENTS (side openers), AWNING (hopper style), SLIDERS, PICTURE WINDOWS, BAY AND BOW WINDOWS, PATIO DOORS, and DOOR FRAMES. The Fibertherm system is available in standard white and bronze, or can be supplied in any custom colour desired.
All Fibertherm systems meet the A440 Government Window standard. Tests for air and water infiltration, wind load resistance screw retention and forced entry have been completed. Fiberglass frames will hold their shape permanently and will not warp, shrink, rot, bow, dent or twist. Fiberglass does not need reinforcing as it is so strong - windows can be made up to 260 square feet in size. Glass and fiberglass are totally compatible in expansion and contraction, minimizing stress on the seal between frame and glazing creating a superior window system.
Consumer's Guide says, "The best energy performance in window frames has been achieved using a fiberglass frame with foam insulation in the frame cavities. Frames can have a significant effect on solar gains, (and the ER rating). Stronger materials that allow narrow frames and sashes like fiberglass, allow more glass area and more solar gain."
